How to calculate the exponential values manually

Post by dvpawankumar »

Hi All,

If anyone knows how to calculate the exponential values please help me on this.

I have a value like 7.e-0.002. How to calculate this value?

And also the Datastage tool displaying different value as per our manual calculation. So here I may be wrong with manual calculation.

Thanks
Pawan

It is highly unusual to have decimal numbers in the exponent for "scientific notation".

That said, the calculation is mantissa * (10 ** exponent) - in your case, 7 * (10 ** -0.002)
