Parameters for performance tuning

Post by rakesh.nc »

Hi all,
I am running a job with source as MQ and target as teradata, between many transformations/business rules has been implemented. My question is, what are the parameters will affects the performance of the job.
How to tweak the performance of the job?
1. By tweaking some of the parameters in TPUMP side?
2. By tweaking some of the parameters in MQ side?
3. By pulling some other parameters into the job level?
regards,
Rakesh

It would depend on various conditions. The job design itself is to be considered as it might be effecting the overall performance. Coming to teradata you might want to have a look at how the indexes have been created as upon loading data even from datastage it does effect the running time of the job. The hardware has a role in the peformance too.
i would say it really depends on the job was designed.
