I have a bunch of Unix scripts that invoke DataStage Jobs in turn. I want to monitor CPU Usage on our UNIX system during our runs. I have looked into the vmstat command which provides % of Idle CPU.

Has anyone else used vmstat or iostat? Can you share your ideas?

I would look at swap space and % of IO on topas. Either will kill your performance.
