Do warnings slow downs jobs?

Hi There,

I have been running a few jobs couple of datasets one single join hashed and partitioned on key field.

The key field in one DS is varchar 35 and the other is varchar 17. Without a transformer to trim and chage the varchar35 it takes an eternity and after the transofrmer is added it speeds up.

I may well have answered my own question here but i would like to gauge other peoples opinions especially the gurus.

Yes, the time need to write messages to the log can slow down job execution very significantly.
