Need of an active stage between two passive stages

Post by devidotcom »

Hi All,

I am loading data from a dataset to a Oracle table using a ODBC stage. I remember I read that its always advisable to use a active stage between two passive stages. Like a copy stage in this example of mine.

Can you advice on this.

Thanks

Yes you do need to put a non processing state( passive stage) between two processing stages( active stage). in the server job you could avoid this by allowing inter process communication but for parallel jobs i dont think we can do that hence we need to explicity insert a passive stage to avoid errors.

No, you do not need to put in a dummy stage.
