delete table definitions in datastage

In our development project developers have created thousands of table definitions. I think this is affecting the performance when we are trying to store new definitions (in a much more organized way!)

Is there any easy way to delete the table definition by providing the name of the definition root?

If you're confident that all table definitions in a category can be deleted, simply delete the category in Manager or Designer.
