Can we write to XL files using a DS job

Hi,

As per our report requirement we need to report data in XL format.

Is there any way to do this using DS job(using ODBC stage etc)
Or using the VB macro to convert .csv to .xls is the only option to acheive this?

Can anybody kindly get back on this question.

If you have DataStage on UNIX, then an ODBC connection product will let you write straight to an Excel file on a Windows box. Otherwise I would just create a .csv file as you have suggested, then open that up in Excel.
