Parameter value

unix command activity----->job1

In unix command i was doing cat of a file. its output is 0003.200808. i was trying to set one of the parameters of job1 with this value. So in the sequece i have job1 parameter as unix command activity.$command output. Now the error is Inappropriate value for parameter. Can i assign activity variables to paramters.

If you take your actual error message, the one you condensed down to 'inappropriate value' and search the forums, you find this has been asked and answered quite a number of times. I'd say a bajillion times, but for some reason Ray doesn't think that's a real number.
