How do i check whether a particular patch installed or not

Hi,
we applied a patch on our dev system and in test i need to check whether the same patch is applied or not.Is there any way to find out ?

Typically, one would ask an SA. What kind of patch?

Most System Administrators - certainly all the ones I've trained over the years - keep records of what patches (and software) have been installed, when and why.

And they would have backups of the original files that has been replaced by the patch.
