Regarding RCP

Post by aschand »

There is no data in the source table.
But i still want to see if RCP is working when chosed and column is propagated to the target side... when column propagation is done.

How do i do that?... Do i definetly need to have data in source to check or there is any other way to identify it?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Yes, you do need data.

Just replace that stage with a row generator, and run a test using that.

Aschand,
Just a friendly suggestion, you should start to take a DataStage 101 class first.

I see that you are on Enterprise Ed. This course offered by IBM may be a good place to start -
http://www-304.ibm.com/jct03001c/servic ... Code=dx434

They have also stated that the pre-requisites that you should have are:

Knowledge of UNIX or Windows NT administration
Knowledge of TCP/IP and basic network principles
Data modeling experience
Familiarity with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and relational database access techniques

Hope this helps. :)

The version 8 DataStage Essentials course code is DX444 (DX434 is for version 7.5).
