HI , Iam able to use the existing routines.when i try to modify or when i try to even view the code in the routine its grayed out.
I am not even able to create a new routine.I went to
File>NEW>ROUTINES>SERVER RoutinES...
the code area is not allowing me to enter any code its not activated. Even save compile options are not activated.
Do i have to do any thing in any other place to create routines?.
And also iam able to create jobs and modify jobs..its not a protected project??
Can any one tell me what Iam doing wrong???

Not sure about the user hierarchy in version 8.0 but usually you have 3 types of users which are Developer, Manager and Operator.

What type of user are you? In other words, does the "user name" that you are using to access DS have developer privileges? If it is set up as operator type, then I think you can not do any sort of things that you are trying to do.

The code area is inactive until you have given the routine a name on the General tab.
