I know that when copying one dataset to another location with ds extension we use orchadmin command. But when i tried to copy a sequentila file to another text file with an extension txt IT ONLY COPIES THE DESCRIPTOR FILE. i dont know how this descriptor came from. Do sequential files also produce descriptor files. How can i solve this. zshould i use orchadmin for copying text files tooo.

No clue what you mean by the 'DESCRIPTOR FILE', sequence files shouldn't have any such thing. While I suppose you may be able to use orchadmin to copy text files, I don't see why you would need to. Just use your normal O/S level commands for text files.

Extensions don't matter! They are more like a standard we should follow. Your datasets will work fine even if you don't give an extension of ".ds" or for that matter give an extension ".mp3"

What command have you used to copy?
