2 datastage servers

Post by fmartinsferreira »

We are migrating from version 7.5 to 8.

Is it possible this two version working in the same server?

Best regards,

Fernando

Yes, though at least one will need to be an -itag installation.

They can co-exist on the same server. You can use the client switcher on your desktop. The tricky part is segregating files and jobs. There can be some confusing if both projects are trying to read or write the same datasets. There will also be a database repository and WebSphere Application Server for version 8 that wasn't there for version 7 that needs additional memory and CPU resources.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but does the WAS have to run on the same server as the DataStage daemon?
