What sybase software do I need to connect to a Sybase DBMS? Do I need to install the software on same box as DataStage EE? Is there any configuration changes that need to be done?

How are you proposing to connect? You may need Sybase OC (client) or you may be able to use the ODBC driver shipped with DataStage.
