Reading dataset with different configuration

In the datastage version 7.5.2 we have; if a dataset is created with two nodes, then this dataset can be read only with a configuration file with 2 nodes and the same node name.

Is there any way to read/overwrite the dataset with any configuration file having any number of node.

Data set is internaly mainted the config file.

I guess, overwrite could be possible. But not read. You ll need to use a Different config file atleast to access the dataset.

Best practice is always to use the same configuration file with a Data Set as the one with which it was created.
