how to comment a derivation

Post by vij »

is there any way i can comment a derivation written in transformer stage or some other stages?

Note : In Informatica, we use // or -- to comment an expression written on expression editor/ or any transformation...

Where can i get the usage of each function in DataStage, with exapmles?

pls answer!

Hi,

In the Datastage job, we can include comments by using Annotation Boxes.

In all stages, we have Descrption filed for all columns. Where you can write, your column derivation details.

We cannot put comments inside a derivation.

That's precisely what the Description fields are for.

To get to them in a Transformer stage you need to open the link properties. The leftmost tool in the toolbar opens stage properties, from which tabs can get you to the link properties, or you can right-click on the title bar in the link representation within the Transformer stage canvas and open the link properties directly from there.
