This jobtype is not currently runnable on this platform

Post by Ahimsa »

Hello Friends,

I have installed DataStage Enterprise Edition on Windows 2000, Service Pack 4. Server jobs are running good. But when I run Parallel Job, its getting aborted with messege - "This jobtype is not currently runnable on this platform. "

Its getting compiled with no error but not running.

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks!

You need to have 7.5x2 version of datastage to be able to run on windows.

Welcome Aboard :)
If you are on DS 7.1 or less then you may not be able to run PX jobs on a windows platform. This was possible with version 7.2 as balajisr noted. You might be able to build and compile it but not execute it.

Note that you specifically need version 7.5x2 as noted by balajisr, not 7.5.2 or (cough) 7.2.

Thanks all for your response. :) Here are the details of machine on which I have installed

DS version: 7.5
Windows 2000 5.002195,Service Pack 4
# of processors - 4
Computer: xSeries 345/8670

So Parallel jobs cannot run on this? Does it need version 7.5x2? I was going through the document dsupgde.pdf -> Hardware and Software Requirements. There it mentions Windows 2000 with Sperive pack 4 ( which I have)

Thanks for helping.

Yes - you specifically need the 7.5x2 version in order to run PX jobs on Windows. With other versions you can only develop PX jobs.
