Difference bewteen Inmon and Kimball philosophies

Post by splayer »

I have done searches in this forum and other forums on the internet. However, I could not find a clear and concise answer to this question. The answer typically given in this forum is, read books of each. Wow!

I know about Kimball and his methodology. I was told that Inmon's data warehousing philosophy has to do with relational databases.

What is exactly Inmon's philosphy and how do they differ? Can anyone give me a few bulletpoints? Can anyone direct me to any sources?

Thanks.
