Hello Forum,
My system administrator has noticed the accumulation of temporary files from datastage in the system temp directory. These files all have the name dynLUT followed by some number. They seem to contain schema information on lookup files used in our parallel jobs.
The administrator doesn't like the fact that these are left lying around.
I have a few questions relating to these files:
1. Do these always get generated any time a PX job with lookup is run?
2. Should the file automatically be removed after run?
3. Is there some DS functionality to have these be removed automatically after run?
4. When there are no jobs running, is it safe to remove these? Not required for rollback and/or on future runs?
Your input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg

1. Only for jobs in which there is a Lookup File Set stage.
2. Probably, but they don't seem to be.
3. Apparently not. One might also wonder why they are placed in the system temp directory, rather in one of the directories specified in the configuration file. Have you reported this behaviour to your support provider?
4. Safe to remove.
