Hi
A basic question?
Can DataStage PX be installed on Windows XP. Or it can be only installed on Unix/Linux?

Thanks

7.5x2 should be for PX and 7.5.2 should be for server. Even iam not sure about the official release of this version.

Server Version 7.5.2 is available and we have been using it for the last two months.

Version 7.5x2 is an official release. However, being the first kid on the block (the first implementation of Orchestrate on Windows, and relying heavily on MKS Toolkit), I don't personally believe it's suitable for production. Maybe the Windows Hawk release will be less flaky.

7.5.1a is supported Windows Server 2003

I believe older versions ran on Windows 2003 server too.
We have been using it on Windows 2003 for dev purposes.
The code base is different so too are the issues.
That is we have seen issues on unix but not on windows and vice versa.
These were very infrequent. All in all quite stable for dev.

With versions back to 6.0 you could only create parallel jobs; you could neither compile nor execute them.

Yup, never tried older version on any windows platform. But does EE version of x2 run on XP.
I remember trying 7.5x2 EE on XP and running into some issues, but was told it wasn't supported so didn't try harder. On windows server 2003 it worked out of the box.

It is not certified for Windows XP and therefore not supported. You are on your own, but it can be gotten to work. XP Professional only, however; it will not even install on XP Home.

Ray et al,

Let me get a clarification here, this statement applies to the server component, not the client...?

Actually applies to the client as well. While older versions could be installed on XP Home, I believe that starting with 7.x they block installation on that O/S.
