When I run dsexport or dscmdexport my DSX file gets up to 600+MB and the export still not done after 11+ hrs. It seems like when it gets to exporting binaries things REALLY show down.

Is there anyway to exclude binaries during these export functions? Or is there another problem I don't know about?

thanks!

How many jobs are you backing up?

 600+ MB

You really should be exporting by category and use multiple concurrent exports on your machine to expedite the process.

820 jobs
10 shared containers
20 data elements
110 stage types
152 table defs
110 transformations

That is not that much. PX binaries must be a lot larger than server jobs.

I agree with Ken. Do a category at a time.

I take it there isn't a way to exclude binaries in an export then?

If you export from Director there is (a checkbox). This does not seem to have been brought into either of the tools you use. Perhaps you could lodge an enhancement request?
