Harryhome, when you execute a SELECT sql in DB2 for that column, do you get "ABC " or "ABC"?

Based on your answer, we can first find whether it is from DB2 or DS. If you have defined the column as CHAR(4) in source and target datasets (in DataStage), no function will help you to remove trailing WHITESPACE.

Also, check PADCHAR environment variable..
