The drivers we are using support 10 G. We dont have 11g Drivers

Not sure what 11g has to do with ODBC. Have you been told the Oracle Enterprise stage won't work with 11g? Have you tried to use it and had issues? :?

As I asked earlier... is obtaining 11g drivers for the 11g product you seem to already have not the ideal solution? Ideally you'd want to use the Oracle Enterprise stage, as mentioned already in this thread.

For the Enterprise stage, the 'drivers' you'd need is the Oracle client and you always get one of those.

How about your transaction size, how often are you doing a committ? Are there allot of warning or other messages written to the log? Can you get the DBA to monitor the job to identify potential problems from the Oracle DB side?

OK, other performance related questions - indexes, are there many on the table? What kind/complexity? Are there FK constraints on this table? Triggers? All things that could rob you of speed during a load.
