Don't see why not. [shrug] You might want to check again, I've had IBM peoples tell me some pretty good whoppers in the past.

;) It's real Craig. I don't not know the reason

You can have mutiple instances of 8.1 on the same server too, but not 8.0.1 and 8.1 on the same server.

You can have mutiple earlier client versions in different directories accompanying either 8.0.1 or 8.1

If this is incorrect, the IBM support provider is not up-to-date

Doesn't necessarily make it right, especially if it's from IBM sales team!

Remember our recent discussion about the future of server jobs?

Ray, it was not from IBM sales team but from IBM support. Also, 8.1 documentation clearly says this.

Only for server.

May be Ray.. but this piece is from 8.1 documentation.
Each version of DataStage requires clients of the same version. You must use the Multi-Client Manager program to switch between different client versions on your Windows client computers. You cannot have WebSphere DataStage 8.0.1 and 8.1 clients installed on the same computer.

You can, but one has to be in a non-default location. As do its DLLs and other supporting files. I guess it was easier for IBM to make the blanket statement.

Sorry if I misunderstand you, but it IS possible to have 8.0 and 8.1 clients on the same PC and switch between them with the MCM. I have both and use both - when I installed 8.1 I just changed the installation directory from the default.

try to execute dsjob command in the below path:

/data1/Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine/bin

This might work for you

Firewall was blocking to execute the dsjob.exe, when we added to the exceptions able to execute the dsjob command as expected.
