I poked around in the IBM website, this is the so called IBM "sample test" on the website. Most of the sample questions look obvious to me, if the test going to be like this ...... i wouldnt mind taking a quick shot at it ... Think they posted simple questions to get impulsive heads like me to take the test ....

Here's the link for the sample test http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/tests/sam415.shtml

They have a key too.., I failed to answer one of the questions correctly

The sample questions are fairly representative of the style and difficulty level of those in the real exam. Obviously, though, ten sample questions can not cover the breadth of knowledge. Therefore I exhort you as part of your preparation also to read the objectives for the exam.

I think I wasted around 7-8 months trying not to be impulsive ... just kept on pushing it. Until one day I got tired and went and took the test. Why I say this is because I was waiting for that "SURE SHOT" feeling to come over ... never did. So don't waste your time ... just go do it !!  (dont come back and yell at me if you fail ... it's your call  )

The best guidance, as already mentioned by many, are the exam objectives published at the IBM Certification site. Read each topic from the appropriate reference guide and that will be enough. :D

Free certification exams at the IoD conference in Vegas this year: both DataStage and QualityStage on offer, plus all the other IBM IM products. I'm thinking of taking the QS exam to see if I can guess my way through.

One more guy going thru certificate exam, next week

I am studying with IBM (I guess they were done by Ascential) Enterprise slides course (11 of them, 350 slides in total), doing lab exercises as I finish slides.

I would like also to go over Parallel Developer and Advanced Developer Guide PDF's, but I dont think I will be able to cover those too. (If I knew I was going to be given chance to go for the exam, and for free....)

After researching this forum, and the sites given on it, I am feeling really pesimistic about my chances (lot of experience with Server DX, but not with PX).

By the way, what is the weigth in the exam for BUFFERING and BUILDOPS? Does it worth it to go over them?

Give feedback as I do the exam

The weights are given in the objectives. The more stuff you know well the better your chances of passing. At least read through the material once.

Congrats everyone! I know some of the authors that were on the committee creating the test. I know how challenging it is.

I'm campaigning for us to have one specifically for WISD and real-time.......

One more certified guy, I am so happy!!!!!

Just before push the "print report" button, I would have bet that I had failed, but a marvellous message with CONGRATULATIONS (that I'd never forget) appeared!!!!

The exam was hard, but do-able, as other mates said.

Definately, not all the questions have the same value. For me, it does make all the sense. Questions where you have to select 3 correct answers cannot be the same than those where you have 25% guess probability. Here are my test results:

Installation: 4 out of 6
Metadata: 2 out of 4
Persisent Storage: 3 out of 10 (I definately have to review this!)
Parallel Architecture: 8 out of 10
Databases: 7 out of 9
Data Transformation: 8 out of 11
Combining and sorting data: 5 out of 8 (expected better results on this)
Automation and Production Deployment: 4 out of 7
Monitor and troubleshooting: 6 out of 7
Job Design: 5 out of 7

So, in total 52/79, which is not the 83% result that I got

What it really made the difference to get this exam passed is the Ascential PPT's course (I guess this was one of the last things they did with that company name). Many questions are so focused on them!!!

Repeat, so happy!!! I cant believe!!!!
