Pivot in datastage 8.1

Post by ds_8112 »

Hi,
I wanted to do vertical pivot on incoming data .

I am using datastage 8.1 version and it seems vertical pivot is not
supported in this version (although there is an option to select pivot type as vertical in the Pivot Enterprise stage) :(

My Input will look some thing like this :

Col1,Col2
1,A
1,B
1,C

and I want the output to be as
Col1,V1,V2,V3
1,A,B,C

Can any body please let me know if there is any other way to achieve this ?

Regards,

So why not use the Enterprise stage? Did you try it and have issues?

I tried Pivot enterprise stage , there is a property where in we can select the Pivot type as vertical or horizontal but when we select vertical the other options (which should be applicable for vertical pivoting) doesn't change..

ie it seems 8.1 only supports horizontal pivot..

Anyways I would like to thank you for taking out time suggesting...

Ah yes, 8.1... getting a little long in the tooth and you're right, doesn't support that 'direction'. Later versions correct this.
