Parallel job reports failure (code 256)

Parallel job reports failure (code 256)

Hi all,

The Parallel job aborted with a fatal error Parallel job reports failure (code 256).

Looks strange and i am not able to find any information in web.
Kindly help and this is the only error for the job

do you have any other warning or error messages in the log. Also when you reset the job, do you get any "From previous run" entry in the log?

This is the only thing i could find before the fatal error as in the subject.This is not fatal or warning but just a log

What sort of stages are you using in this job (apart from the DB2 stage) ? Java?

What you mean by Java stage?
It is a very big job cantaining most of the common stages

It is just because the error messages visible from the director log usually don't show JAVA dumps.

Have you looked into the file "etl/IS/Projects/VLM_CATE/javacore.20131024.171828.54919822.0002.txt" for additional information?

Also, did this job once work and if it did, what has changed between time it worked and now?

Hi There was a pproblem with DB2 where the space was overflowed.
This caused the issue and we have requested the DB to increase the space
