And your question is?

For the record, ANY conversion may affect performance...it's additional processing

Set the job to NLS Map ISO-8859-1 and the warning will go away. You will have to type the NLS map manually, it's there but not in the drop down list.

Williams,
Changing the NLS @job/project level will resolve the issue.
Do you have any idea on why that change is required when both represents same charecter sets.

According to IANA(http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets) ISO_8859-1:1987 is Alias to ISO-8859-1

Name: ISO_8859-1:1987 [RFC1345,KXS2]
MIBenum: 4
Source: ECMA registry
Alias: iso-ir-100
Alias: ISO_8859-1
Alias: ISO-8859-1 (preferred MIME name)
Alias: latin1
Alias: l1
Alias: IBM819
Alias: CP819
Alias: csISOLatin1

when both names are representing the same charecter set why this warning occurs? Could some one please explain ?

Thanks,
Vinay.

DataStage issues the alert when any difference occurs in the map name; it is not the responsibility of DataStage to be aware that one map name is an alias for another one.
