SQL server 2008

Post by Hoa.Nguyen »

Hi,

We are planning to upgrade our external source SQL server 2005 database to SQL server 2008 database.

are any issues connecting Datastage PX 8.1 jobs to SQL server 2008 database?

Please advise!

Thanks,
Hoa Nguyen

Shouldn't think so. Are you using ODBC or the SQL Server Enterprise stage?

Hi Ray,

Will be both, ODBC and SQL enterprise stage.

Sql server 2008 will be our source and target database.

Thanks,
Hoa

Hi

Which version of Datastage you are going to use?

8.1 will support only SQL Server 2005 and not 2008
8.5 will support only SQL Server 2008 , but not R2

In term of connection, you will not find any issues.

But if you use Upsert, there you will start to face issue. Job may hang for hours even for few records either it is th' SQL Server Stage / ODBC Stage.
