Complex Flat File stage

Dumb question. Can the Complex Flat File stage be used with an ASCII variable length file? Many dfferent record types, but not a typical EBCDIC fixed-length COBOL-friendly file.

Why not try it? You are allowed to specify ASCII and not EBCDIC, and Variable length is also an option.
