Regarding Oracle as Metadata repository Infosphere 8.5

Hi

I am trying to install Infosphere Datastage server 8.5v.We have windows server 2003 enterprise edition.

We are planning to use Oracle as our Metadata Repository.

Please let me know

Is it mandate that we need to install Oracle 10g Server?

or Is it fine that we install Oracle client on this windows server 2003 and Oracle server on other machine?

I am not able to get from IBM support Database requirements portal.

Oracle server can be installed either on the same server as DS server resides or on the other machine. But you must create the DB instance for XMETA and IADB before you run the installation for the DS.
