Datastage 8.0.1 Installation

I am trying to install DS 8.0.1 on Sun solaris 5.10, as a root, in console mode. But as soon as the installation shield wizard starts, I get many exceptions called out, like the ones below

Exception while processing uid datastageengine
Exception while processing uid datastageserver
Exception while processing uid db2installer
Exception while processing uid pluginstages


After this, i get steps to proceed with the installation and when it comes to installing meta data server on DB2, i get the error below and i cannot progress with the installation.

[ibm][db2][jcc][t4][2043][11550] Exception java.net.ConnectException: Error opening socket to server localhost/127.0.0.1 on port 50,000 with message: Connection refused


I tried searching in google, dsxchange forums but i dont see any posts related to these errors. Please advice.
