Cannot open Execute Command Stage in sequencer

Post by SHARAD123 »

Hi All,

I cannot open any Execute Command stage in the sequencers. If i try opening the stage DS hangs.
This has been happening for 2 days now.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client, but it does not resolve the issue.

Please guide me through this problem.

Is there any patch for this? We have fixpack1a installed.

Your Execute Command Stage window may be opening up off-screen. We have had this happen several times with different stages. The next time DataStage "Locks up" try pressing Alt-Tab to see the list of open applications. If you see an unknown window, select it and then move it back onto your screen. Since you can't use a mouse off screen, you will have to use the keyboard keys to do it.

1. Press Alt-tab until you are on the screen that won't display.
2. Press Alt-Spacebar for the screen menu (you won't be able to see the menu since the window is off the screen).
3. Choose M for Move
4. Use the arrow keys to move it on to your screen. Try all arrow keys since you don't know which side of the screen your window may be.

Interesting... We never had 7.5.1. We started with 8.0 and are currently on 8.1. We still have windows opening up off-screen on occasion. I would think the patch would have been included with later versions.
