DataStage parallel engine will work properly in a grid environment. A few changes have to be made, because (necessarily) allocation of nodes has to be negotiated dynamically with the grid management software.
Currently IBM will only provide grid enablement as a service - that is, they have to make the changes, and don't provide any of the rest of us with the tools or the skills to do so. Though, once you've seen it, the skills are easily self-taught.
There are some changes to the way things are executed, particularly sequential files and Data Sets, because of the uncertainty of location of such artifacts. I won't bore you with the gory details at this time.
There are some excellent examples of grid-enabled DataStage, a number of which have signed up as IBM reference sites, so you can get your IBM rep to organize for you to visit one or two. One of them is in Las Vegas, so maybe you could combine the visit with attending IOD 2010.
