Unable to open the oracle stage

Post by ravi468 »

I am using Datastage 7.5.1 and I have a problem in opening oracle stage

I have a very simple job with Oracle stage and a sequential file stage.Job is going to extract the data from oracle tables and write it into sequantial file.

Now if I try to see the properties of Oracle Stage entire Datastage hangs out and I cannot do anything in it . I have to go task manager to kill that session.

Same job runs successfully in another machine. Its not working in my machine and also the same job was running fine for me also some 2 days back.I have this problem till last 2 days.

So I uninstalled the client and reinstalled. Still it is not working.

Could some one please help me on this.

Thanks

So... only you have this problem or everyone does? This is specific to one job or any job with "the Oracle stage"? :?

Then I would suggest you play the client uninstall/reinstall game again. This time, though, take off and nuke it from orbit - it's the only way to be sure:

1. Uninstall the client.
2. Delete any leftover directories from the harddrive.
3. Use 'regedit' and remove all traces of any Ascential keys.
4. Reboot.
5. Reinstall.
7. Heck, reboot again.

See if that works.

Are you running on Windows XP sp2 and the others on sp1 or some other Windows operating system?

I think you can check you network first .
sometimes , when i connect to DS server with VPN , similar problems happened .

If your network is fine , try it as what chulett said : )

Never had any 'Service Pack 2' issues with the Oracle stages. FWIW.
