Datastage Version Control

Post by pillip »

Hi,

Do we have any datastage version control tool where we can keep track of the versions of a particular job.
This will be really helpful in development when there are a many people working on the releases.
Do we have any scope of having this in the future.

Thanks.

No, it was dropped from the "initial" 8.x releases and is scheduled to return in a more... traditional... form in a later release. Perhaps even the next one, which will be 8.5 I do believe.

Thanks a lot for the update Craig. Here we would like to implement version control badly.

You can do your own version control by using the version 8 DataStage Manager tool to create release packages and using the Compare Job function to document or view changes between versions.
