Installation Error during 8.1 install on linux suse 10

Post by Bill_G »

We are using two seperate servers for our install, one for the engine and one for services. our repository resides on a third server connected by a high speed backbone (same frame).

We are also installing the 64 bit version on a 64 bit OS and hardware and have verified we meet the software and hardware requirements according to the documentation.

We succuessfully installed WAS and the Services tier, however when we attempted to install the engine tier (along with documentation) we recieved the following error after specifying where the services tier/port and admin id/password:

The InstallShield Wizard is resolving the products in the suite. Please wait...
WARNING: error configuring wizard user interface: WizardException: (error code = 103; message="could not instantiate interface with class com.installshield.wizard.console.ConsoleWizardUI")
WARNING: could not add command line bean of type com.installshield.product.commandline.ProductBeanPropertiesOption to wizard: WizardException: (error code = 100; message="could not instantiate command line bean with class com.installshield.product.commandline.ProductBeanPropertiesOption")
WARNING: could not add command line bean of type com.installshield.wizard.AccessibilityMode to wizard: WizardException: (error code = 100; message="could not instantiate command line bean with class com.installshield.wizard.AccessibilityMode")

the install then appeared to become hung with approximately 16 dots at the bottom of the screen which did not advance after 30 min.

Thank-you for your time.

The step at which it's hanging appears to be reading your licensing XML file. Did you give it the correct location for that file?

I'm surprised that it's hanging at this point - I would have expected a fatal error to be thrown.
