multiple invocations of a multi instance job failing

This is key as - since this is a single job - there is only a single log for all invocations to share. It gets all kind of confused when you have X invocations running and auto-purge set to purge after < X runs.

We are running on RHEL 5 and IIS 8.1 FP1 and still have this issue.

And? Which issue would that be, exactly? There's more than one mentioned here. Not to mention that it is kind of hard to help you if you haven't given us any details of what you are seeing and what you have tried.

I also got a similar kind of issue in DS 8.1.
I started a job jbsample with instance name test but the job has not created an instance jbsample.test, instead it started running as jbsample. I raised a PMR to IBM
