IBM DataStage 8.1 with Oracle RDB Connection issue (Urgent)

IBM DataStage 8.1 with Oracle RDB Connection issue (Urgent)

Source Database: Oracle RDB Release 7.1.0 on Open VMS server
DataStage Server: Red hat server

Problem:
- we have installed Oracle 9i Client on the datastage server to connect to RDB database, and have succeeded to connect to RDB using SQLPlus from the datastage server

- but we could not connect to RDB with datastage using:

1- Oracle Enterprise Stage ( we got the error: Oracle Version 7 is not supported.)

2- ODBC Enterprise and Dynamic RDBMS Stages (it gave "ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel"

is there anything could be done in addition to configure the tnsnames file either on the RDB database server, or the datastage server.

Kindly, in case anyone know a clue or a solution for this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.
