Is there a dsrpcd process running on Box2? Have you tried to connect to "Box2:9080"? Just enter the domain, userid and password and click on the dropdown list to see if the connection works.

I am back > any other suggestions any one please.
Are you folks using root,
I checked all the logs the installation completed successfully.

WAS is running fine, Engine started normally execute command ds.rc.

I checked ps waux | grep dsrpcd at it returned with a process running started yesterday. we run it as iadmin and not as root.
I believe running it as root should not make any difference.

thanks

If I use some other port in Box3
say I tried 31531 it generates error RPC deamon
it has to be port 31538 and I checked its listening on that port.

cheers

I changed the Registry to External LDAP.

We have to use LDAP ID to login into administration client.
The datastage credentials are now shared.

But still I can't login.

I will ask admin to start ds.rc as root. See what happens.
thanks

if engine tier and Service Tier are on different machines how can a user registry be shared?

I finally got it.

Service tier is in Box 1 connected to LDAP.
Id dsapp is WAS login and is in LDAP

Engine tier is in Box2

Credentials cannot be shared because tier's are in separate machines(i think)
Default DS/QS credentials : blank
My credentials : iadmin OS user box2
users credentials : dsapp(ldap id) maps to iadmin (box2 os user)

No more errors while loggin in.
