Administrator getting hanged

Post by jaysheel »

Hi,

I just finished a fresh installation of Datastage Enterprise Edition 7.5.2 on Windows 2003 server. After this I rebooted and installed the client. When I logged into the administrator and clicked on the project properties it got hanged. This is happening even if I access the Administrator from remote machines using the Datastage clients. Remember : I have not done any configurations after installtion. Just I tried to login to the Administrator. Any idea what might be the reason ?

Does the Designer/Director work? By "hang" does it mean that you have to kill the process? If you do a "telnet {WindowsServerName}" do you get a DataStage login prompt?

Designer and Director are opening without any delay or problem. But I have not tested any job with this installation. What I meant by "Hang" is I have to kill the process in Windows task manager. And I am getting the datastage login prompt when I do a TELNET session with the Windows server.

Do you get a drop-down list of projects in the admin tool when you enter your userid/password combination?

Actually I have setup only one project as of now. So after logging in when I click on the Project properties the problem occurs.

Does that mean you can enter the ADMIN tool, but when you choose the project nothing else happens?

Yes firewalled. But port opened for datastage connection.
This thing is happening even if I use the client from same machine.

Please verify which port number has been opened.
