Are License keys platform specific?

Hi,

I have Licence keys for HP-UX version. Does this key support installation on Solaris? I mean the keys specific to one os, does support for another os?

License keys are version and O/S specific.

That's actually for your own protection. The different operating systems have different system calls, therefore DataStage engine (which is effectively a virtual machine) needs to be different on different operating systems. The licence, among other things, makes sure you are on the correct one.

It's not totally correct to claim that licence keys are version specific, however it's true that a given licence key will not work on all versions. However, a version 4 licence key will work on a version 5 or version 6 DataStage.
