ORaA -OCI STAGE DOESNOT SUPPORT LONG DATATYPE

HI EXPERTS,

THIS IS NARAYANA MURTHY, IAM AN NEW USER TO DSXCHANGE.

I HAVE SMALL ISSUE WHILE EXTRACTING DATA FROM ORA_OCI STAGE SOME FIELDS HAVING DATA TYPE AS LONG, BUT IN DATASTAGE DOESN'T SUPPORT TO EXTRACT DATA FROM THESE KIND OF DATATYPES.HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Welcome. Not really what I'd call a small issue, heck Oracle doesn't really support LONG fields all that well, too many restrictions on what you can and can't do with one.

I'm guessing this is a 7.x (or earlier) Oracle database? There really aren't any 'transformations' you can do on a LONG, so you'd probably need to look elsewhere (i.e. Oracle) to handle it. What are your requirements, meaning what problem are you trying to solve?
