Hi
I would like to connect to a oracle DB and i donot have the oracle client in the machine where my datastage server is installed .This prompts me to use an Dynamic RDMS stage(An API stage) but the same can be achieved in the ODBC Enterprise stage.
Can i have clue of which stage is to be used ...? To be more precise in the question ...
How these enterprise and API stages exactly work in the datastage PX ?

They work as ordinary client applications as far as the database server is concerned. API stages use the native API for the database, ODBC stage (and DRS with ODBC set) use ODBC protocols via an ODBC driver.
