Informix Connectivity Issue

Post by abhishekachrekar »

Hi,

We are trying to connect to informix database using Informix Enterprise stage.
Inorder to enable the connection we have made an entry in the sqlhosts file. But the connection is aborting with error "Invalid sqlhosts file format". The format we entered is correct. The format is matching with the existing entries in the file.

We tried connecting to another informix database which already had an entry in the SQLhosts and the connection was successful.

Does connectivity to Informix via Informix Enterprise requires an ODBC entry as well? The another informix database which we were able to connect successfully has an entry in both the sqlhosts and odbc.ini file.

Regards,
Abhishek

Does the sqlhosts file have a line terminator at the end of its last line?

Yes Ray,

We have a line terminator at the end of the last line.
Please find below the format of the sqlhost entry made by us:

<db_instance_name> onsoctp <server_name> <port_number>$
$

Hi,

Its working fine now. There was a spelling mistake in the protocol used.
