Oracle Stage - Phanthom Error

Post by yuva010 »

Hi,

We are getting following error in Oracle Stage,

"Contents of Phantom Output File" -->
RT_SC661/OshExecute.sh()20:20944 MemoryFault (Coredump)."

Same query if we run on Direct database through toad, it works fine.
What could be the reason, Cache Memory?
Thanks,
Yuva.

What are you DOING in the Oracle stage?

Without knowing that the reason for a core dump is impossible to guess.

Have you had your support provider analyze the core file?

Also let us know the exact version of the Oracle client installed on the DataStage server, the version of the database being connected to and your operating system's flavor of UNIX.

Its 9i Oracle.
We have a normal query with few joins. It works fine even with Server Job but throws error in PX.
Core File, we haven't sent it to anybody. What can be seen in this file?
Thanks,
Yuva.

The state of your system (in particular the contents of memory) at the point of failure. You need documentation and probably some analysis tools, not to mention knowledge of the memory model used inside DataStage, to make any sense of a core file.

"9i" isn't the version, that would be more like "9.2.0.5" or something similar. And find out both the client and database versions.
