Taking Datastage TRUE COPY

HI,

we have taken true copy from prod. to disaster server.problem is 'dsrpcd service not running'

Whether we can able to take a true copy from one server to another?

please help me whether we have to install datastage in disaster server or no need

help me to trouble shoot

Have you tried to start DataStage on the DR server? Does dsrpcd start then stop, or not start at all? Try starting dsrpcd in debug mode.

Yes Started datastage,

only PXengine is running (i.e"/PXEngine/java/JobMonApp.jar")

sorry i don't how to start dsrpcd debug mode can you help me

I have found dsrpc is not in /etc/services.

this is a problem?

No, it lives in $DSHOME/bin.

Edited to add: D'oh, that's what I get for answering just after waking up. Yes, it needs to be listed there.

Search the forums. With nothing but Exact Match really working :evil: you'll need to search for something like "RPC Daemon is not running" to find the various conversations on how to start it in debug mode to determine exactly what's happening.

Typically the port it listens on is hung and you'll get a "bind bombed" error, you can search for that phrase as well.

Or port #31538 is blocked by firewall software.

Best bet is to install DS in your DR server and reimport all the prod jobs.

Thank you all for your response.

Finally the DatastageTRUE Copy is working in DR server without installation.i can able to view all projects and codes.

Follwoing tasks we did;

1) we added
dsrpc 31538/tcp # dsrpc RPC daemon
to /etc/services .
2) Given 777 Permission tp
/tmp
directory
