Multiple Instances of data file

Post by karthikgk0705 »

Hi,

We had a dataset corruption issue during our run and we deleted the dataset using orchadmin command and recreated it.
So far so good.
But as a preventive maintenence, we wanted to analyse why the dataset got corrupted.
When I search for the dataset inthe datasets folder, i find that there are 2 instances of data file. But the descriptor file is pointing to only one of them.
We are using node 1 configuration. Basically the default config file.
Now, my questions are
1.How did 2 instances got created?
2. When I try to view the data for a data set from teh desginer , in the background, will both teh instances be used or only the latest one?

Are the file names exactly the same? What are the "date/time accessed" values on the files? What does the Data Set Management utility show you when in the Segments grid when you select Node 0 in the nodes grid?
