Where is Data for DataSets phsically stored

Hi All, I know that a dataset has 2 parts the descriptor and the data it self.
Where is the data physically stored? We are storing our intermediate data in subfolders under /home/data/DataStage/Project etc.. and are wondering how much space to allocate? Can someone please shed some light. Will the data be sotred in physically in another folder?

Found the answer. It's specified in the configuration file.
