Got Datastage Certified - 97%

Post by vyyuri »

ToDay I got certified in Datastage , Compare to other certifications that I have done (Oracle 8i DBA in 2002 , Sun certified Java Programmer ) it is bit compelx , But compare to Sun certified Java Architect ( which I completed my first paper) It is really easy .

All the questions I lost are from monitoring part , still I am not able to understand where I made mistake.

One question even I felt should have multiple answers , but found only one .

I read the documents what ever mentioned in http://minhajuddin.blogspot.com/

Thanks Vincent , Ray and others who provided good infomation on certification.

Does the certification require prior experience with all databases to clear? I have worked only with SQL, Sybase, Oracle and DB2/UDB- never got my hands on Teradata,SAS,Informix or DB2/z\OS editions.

You are in luck, you just have to read the datastage documentation for the rest of the databases

97% is a very good score. From memory there were one or two questions that could have gone either way - I didn't think they had a single choice answer. The tests sticks closely to the enterprise database stages and not the API or plugin ones. It also stays away from the hard core PX coding stuff such as custom custom routines.

Hi Vincent , Thanks

You are right, they stick to E D Stages.

One more thing I noticed is for all the partition questions (around 4 , all are very similar , Even I felt they are duplicated ) answer was same. I got doubt and read those questions 5 times . I got Full marks from that section by giving the same answer for those 4 questions

Thanks
